Maintenance requests: Gantt views

Equipment and work center requests are now available in dedicated Gantt views.

In plain words

Maintenance requests now have Gantt views. Maintenance > Planning by Equipment shows requests on a timeline per equipment, and with Manufacturing installed, Planning by Workcenter shows them per work center.

Maintenance > Maintenance > Planning by Equipment (or Planning by Workcenter).

For users

Planners can see and drag maintenance requests on a timeline, grouped by equipment or by work center.

For developers

New gantt views maintenance_enterprise.maintenance_request_view_gantt and mrp_maintenance.maintenance_request_view_gantt_workcenter (date_start schedule_date, date_stop schedule_end) with their own actions and menus.

Upgrading from Odoo 19

No migration needed. The equipment action filters on maintenance_for = equipment when mrp_maintenance is installed.

Maintenance teams on stages

Customize maintenance stages for each maintenance team.

Each maintenance stage can now be linked to one or more maintenance teams. A request only shows the stages of its own team plus the stages that have no team, so each team can have its own pipeline.

For users

Teams such as Metrology can have extra stages (for example Calibration) that other teams never see.

For developers

New field maintenance.stage.maintenance_team_ids (Many2many). The request stage_id domain and the kanban group expansion filter stages by maintenance_team_id.

Upgrading from Odoo 19

Existing stages have no team and stay visible to all teams, so nothing changes until teams are set.

Several UX improvements have been made, including a new "Status" widget.

Maintenance requests get a new Status widget next to the title with In Progress, Changes Requested, Approved, Done and Cancelled. Other UX changes include several assignees per request and a cleaner form and kanban card.

Maintenance > Maintenance > Maintenance Requests.
Open a request and click the status button next to the title.

For users

The request status is set from one button, and Done or Cancelled closes the request.

For developers

maintenance.request gets a state Selection (normal, changes_requested, approved, done, cancelled) shown with the new maintenance_request_state_selection field widget. The Odoo 19 kanban_state and archive fields are gone from the request.

Upgrading from Odoo 19

Custom code reading kanban_state or archive on maintenance.request must switch to state.
