Odoo vs Salesforce in 2026: Per-User Cost, CRM Fit and Running Both cover

Most Odoo vs Salesforce articles compare feature lists. The real decision is about cost per seat, what your sales team actually uses, and whether CRM should live in the same database as stock and invoices. Our Odoo implementation services start with that fit check.

This guide is for founders, sales leaders and finance heads weighing a Salesforce alternative. If you have already decided to leave, our guide to Salesforce to Odoo migration covers what moves, what you rebuild and the cutover plan.

What is the real difference between Odoo and Salesforce?

The real difference is scope: Salesforce is a customer platform built around the sales, service and marketing front office, while Odoo is an ERP where CRM is one app among sales, inventory, accounting and HR. Everything else follows from that.

Salesforce sells clouds: Sales Cloud for pipeline, Service Cloud for support, with marketing and data products licensed separately. Odoo sells one subscription in which CRM shares a database with Sales, Inventory, Accounting and Helpdesk, so nothing has to be synced.

So the Salesforce vs Odoo question is rarely "which CRM is better". It is whether you need a specialist CRM connected to other systems, or a good CRM inside the system that runs the company.

How does Salesforce pricing compare with Odoo pricing per user?

Odoo vs Salesforce: What a seat really costs

Per user, Salesforce Pro costs about 1.6 times Odoo Custom, Core about 3 times and Max about 9 times, and Odoo's price covers every app. The table compares list prices billed annually in US dollars.

EditionPrice per user a monthWhat it is
Salesforce Starter SuiteUS$25Basic leads, accounts, contacts and opportunities
Salesforce Pro SuiteUS$100Adds quoting, forecasting and more automation
Salesforce Core (was Enterprise)US$195Adds Premier Success, Slack and Tableau Next
Salesforce Advanced (was Unlimited)US$395Adds more AI, data capacity and security tools
Salesforce Max (was Agentforce 1)US$550Adds Agentforce for Sales and the full AI suite
Odoo StandardUS$31.10 (US$24.90 first year)All Odoo apps, Odoo Online hosting
Odoo CustomUS$61.00 (US$49.00 first year)Adds Studio, multi-company, external API, Odoo.sh or on-premise

Salesforce figures come from its Sales Cloud pricing page, checked on 6 November 2026, which says "Core replaces Enterprise Edition, Advanced replaces Unlimited Edition, and Max replaces Agentforce 1 Edition."

Odoo figures come from the Odoo pricing page. In India the same plans are Rs 725 and Rs 1,350 per user a month billed yearly. One App Free gives unlimited users on a single app, and Light Users cost US$8.90 a month.

Salesforce also raised Enterprise and Unlimited list prices by an average of 6% from 1 August 2025, and lists add-ons such as Revenue Cloud from US$200 per user a month.

What do 10, 25 and 50 users pay for Odoo vs Salesforce?

At list prices, 25 users on Salesforce Core cost about US$58,500 a year, against US$18,300 on Odoo Custom with every app included. The table shows yearly license cost only, before discounts.

UsersSalesforce ProSalesforce CoreOdoo StandardOdoo Custom
10US$12,000US$23,400US$3,732US$7,320
25US$30,000US$58,500US$9,330US$18,300
50US$60,000US$117,000US$18,660US$36,600

These are list prices, not quotes; discounts and Odoo's first-year price lower them. Odoo's subscription agreement also allows renewal prices to rise up to 7% a year, so model increases on both sides.

An illustrative three-year cost for 25 users

Over three years, an illustrative 25-user team spends about US$175,500 on Salesforce Core licenses versus roughly US$61,500 to US$87,300 for Odoo Custom including implementation. Here is how the Odoo side is built.

  • Odoo licenses: US$14,700 in year one at the first-year price, then US$18,300 a year, about US$51,300 in total.
  • Implementation: our published Odoo implementation cost ranges put a mid-size project at US$9k to US$27k over 8 to 14 weeks.
  • Data migration: US$1.2k to US$9k depending on the source system and years of history.
  • Salesforce side: licenses only; admin, add-ons and any separate ERP are extra.

If you already run an ERP and only need a CRM, compare Salesforce Pro with Odoo plus the integration you would still need. Our guide to reducing Odoo per-user licensing cost shows how to size full seats.

Odoo CRM vs Salesforce: which CRM features matter most?

For pipeline, activities, scoring and quoting, Odoo CRM covers what most teams of 5 to 100 sellers use; Salesforce pulls ahead on territories, enterprise forecasting, marketplace apps and AI agents. The table maps the gaps buyers ask about.

NeedSalesforce Sales CloudOdoo CRM
Pipeline and stagesHighly configurable per record typeKanban per sales team, pipeline switcher in Odoo 20
Lead scoringAI scoring on higher editions or add-onsPredictive lead scoring included
Lead routingAssignment rules and routing flowsRule-based assignment with rotation and caps
ForecastingDeep, multi-level, across business unitsExpected revenue, forecast and cohort views
TerritoriesTerritory management for complex hierarchiesSales teams and assignment rules only
Quotes to cashQuoting in Pro and up; orders often in an ERPQuote, order, delivery and invoice in one database
EcosystemVery large app marketplaceOdoo Apps Store, smaller but growing

Odoo's documentation explains that predictive lead scoring is a naive Bayes model trained on your own won and lost opportunities. It needs no extra license, but it needs history to be useful.

Odoo 20 added a pipeline switcher, lead distribution with rotation and monthly caps, grouped lead generation, hidden address fields on leads and upsell quotes from the lead. Our Odoo 20 CRM release notes list each change.

How do AI costs compare: Agentforce vs Odoo AI?

Salesforce prices AI per user or by credits on top of the edition, while Odoo 20 runs AI on prepaid credits that cost EUR 1 each. For most small teams, Odoo's AI bill is lower and easier to predict.

On Salesforce, Agentforce for Sales is listed from US$125 per user a month as an add-on and is included in Max at US$550. Core, Advanced and Max also carry an allowance of Flex Credits per org, with more credits for purchase.

In Odoo 20, AI features use Odoo AI IAP credits at EUR 1 per credit, with 20 free credits to start. The option to plug in your own OpenAI or Gemini key was removed in Odoo 20.

Credits suit occasional summaries, drafting and lead enrichment; teams wanting agents on every deal may find Salesforce more mature. Our Odoo 20 AI and IAP credit cost breakdown shows typical monthly spend.

When is Salesforce the better choice than Odoo?

Salesforce is the better choice when CRM depth drives revenue and the back office already runs well in another system. In these cases we tell clients to stay.

  • Complex territories: hundreds of territory rules, overlays and quota hierarchies across regions.
  • Large sales organizations: forecasting that rolls up many business units and currencies with heavy governance.
  • Marketplace dependence: revenue depends on niche apps that exist only on Salesforce.
  • Mature admin team: you already have Salesforce admins and a stable build that works.
  • Heavy service and marketing: Service Cloud and marketing products are deeply tied to your sales process.

When is Odoo a better Salesforce alternative?

Odoo is the better Salesforce alternative when your sellers mostly use pipeline, activities and quotes, and you want sales tied to stock, projects and invoicing. These are the patterns we see most.

  • Product sellers: quotes need live stock, pricelists and delivery dates without re-keying into an ERP.
  • Seat cost pressure: the per-user bill has grown faster than the features your team uses.
  • No separate ERP yet: you need accounting, inventory or projects anyway, so CRM comes with the same subscription.
  • Small admin budget: Odoo automation rules and Studio are closer to tools a power user can run.
  • Hosting choice: you want Odoo Online, Odoo.sh or your own servers rather than one vendor cloud.

On Odoo CRM pricing, there is no separate CRM fee: CRM is part of the per-user subscription, and a CRM-only team can use One App Free.

When should you run Odoo and Salesforce together?

Run both when sales is deeply built on Salesforce but operations and finance need an ERP, or as a bridge while you move CRM to Odoo. The hybrid works if each record has one owner.

Odoo has no native connector. On the Odoo forum, the answer to how to integrate Odoo with Salesforce was that "by default there is no option": buy a third-party module or build on Odoo's web services.

A typical Odoo Salesforce integration syncs accounts, products and won opportunities from Salesforce into Odoo, and sends order status, invoices and payment status back. Our Odoo integration services design that flow.

Plan for three constraints:

  • Plan choice: the external API is on Odoo Custom, and Odoo Online does not accept third-party connector modules, so a module-based connector needs Odoo.sh or on-premise.
  • API version: XML-RPC and JSON-RPC are deprecated in Odoo 20 and scheduled for removal in Odoo 22, so build new links on the JSON-2 API.
  • Salesforce API access: the Sales Cloud pricing page lists Web Services API at an additional US$25 per user a month, so check your edition before you design the sync.

Running both means paying for both, so set a review date for the hybrid.

Which industries fit Odoo, Salesforce or both?

Product, project and subscription businesses usually get more from Odoo, while large B2B sales organizations with complex territories stay on Salesforce. The table shows how we usually advise by industry.

How do you decide between Odoo and Salesforce?

Answer six questions in order and the choice is usually clear within an hour. Score each one honestly before you talk to a vendor.

  1. Usage: list the Salesforce features your sellers used last month, not the ones in the contract.
  2. Seats: count who needs a full seat in each system and who only reads reports.
  3. Back office: decide whether quotes must check stock, projects or billing in real time.
  4. Territories and forecasting: check whether your rules fit Odoo sales teams and assignment.
  5. Three-year cost: price licenses, add-ons, admin and implementation on both sides.
  6. Exit or bridge: if Odoo wins, time go-live two to three months before your Salesforce renewal.

Odoo vs Salesforce case study: LabMart (Odoo CRM beside another platform)

A healthcare SaaS company kept its front-office ticketing tool and wired it into Odoo, with Odoo CRM updated on every customer-impacting ticket. It shows how a hybrid setup works when each system has a clear job.

LabMart operates across the USA and India. Inbound support tickets had grown four times year on year, and first-response times had slipped from 2 hours to 18 hours. Two generic AI helpdesk tools had failed on its clinical terminology.

We built an AI agent connected to Zoho Desk for tickets and Odoo Helpdesk for internal escalations. Odoo CRM is updated on every customer-impacting ticket, and anything under a 78% confidence score goes to a human.

The agent went live in 7 weeks. It handles 1,800 tickets a week, auto-classifies 92% of them and cut first response from 18 hours to 4.5 minutes. Read the LabMart AI and Odoo CRM integration case study.

The bottom line on Odoo vs Salesforce

Choose Salesforce when CRM depth, territories and its ecosystem drive revenue; choose Odoo when you want a solid CRM inside one system for sales, stock and finance at a much lower seat price. Run both only with a clear plan.

Start with what your team actually uses, price three years on both sides, and test your three most important sales processes in Odoo before you sign.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Odoo better than Salesforce?

+

Neither is better for everyone. Salesforce is deeper for large sales teams with complex territories and forecasting. Odoo suits teams that want a good CRM tied to quotes, stock and invoicing at a lower per-user price.

Does Odoo cost less than Salesforce?

+

Usually, yes. Odoo Custom is US$61.00 per user a month billed yearly with every app, while Salesforce Core is US$195 for Sales Cloud alone. Salesforce Starter at US$25 costs less than Odoo but covers far less.

How much does Salesforce cost per user in 2026?

+

Salesforce lists Sales Cloud at US$25 for Starter, US$100 for Pro, US$195 for Core, US$395 for Advanced and US$550 for Max per user a month. All but Starter are billed annually, and add-ons cost extra.

Does Odoo have a Salesforce connector?

+

Not built in. You can buy a third-party connector module from the Odoo Apps Store or build an integration on Odoo's external API. Module-based connectors need Odoo.sh or on-premise, as Odoo Online does not accept them.

Can Odoo CRM replace Salesforce?

+

For most teams that use pipeline, activities, lead scoring and quotes, yes. It is weaker on complex territory management, multi-level forecasting and niche marketplace apps, so test those first if you depend on them.

Can I run Odoo and Salesforce together?

+

Yes. Many companies keep Salesforce for sales and run Odoo as the ERP, syncing accounts, products, won deals, orders and invoices. Agree which system owns each record and plan for API costs on both sides.

How long does it take to switch from Salesforce to Odoo?

+

A focused CRM move often takes 6 to 12 weeks, with real data loaded at least twice before go-live. Plan go-live two to three months before your Salesforce renewal so the remaining term covers a parallel run.

What happened to Salesforce Enterprise and Unlimited editions?

+

Salesforce renamed them. Its pricing page says Core replaces Enterprise, Advanced replaces Unlimited and Max replaces Agentforce 1, at US$195, US$395 and US$550 per user a month billed annually.
