Odoo vs HubSpot Marketing: Odoo 20 Features, Cost and Attribution
Odoo vs HubSpot Marketing compared for Odoo 20: a sourced cost table, email marketing, automation, attribution, integration and when each tool fits.
Most Odoo vs HubSpot Marketing articles stop at "Odoo costs less". The useful question is what you give up, what you gain, and what the five-year bill looks like for your team. Our Odoo consulting services start with that side-by-side check.
This guide is for marketing leads, founders and CFOs who run HubSpot today or are pricing a HubSpot alternative. If you also weigh other suites, our ERP comparison hub covers Zoho, ERPNext, NetSuite and more.
What are you comparing when you compare Odoo and HubSpot Marketing?
You are comparing a marketing platform with a marketing layer that sits inside an ERP. HubSpot sells Marketing Hub as its own product, with Sales Hub and Service Hub on top; Odoo ships marketing apps next to CRM, Sales, Accounting and Inventory.
| Need | HubSpot product | Odoo 20 app |
|---|---|---|
| Newsletters and campaigns | Marketing Hub email | Email Marketing |
| Nurture journeys | Marketing Hub workflows | Marketing Automation |
| Text messages | Not listed on Marketing Hub pricing | SMS Marketing (IAP credits) |
| Social posting | Social tools in Professional and up | Social Marketing |
| Lead pipeline | Smart CRM plus Sales Hub seats | CRM |
| Quotes, invoices, revenue | Commerce tools or an outside ERP | Sales, Subscriptions, Accounting |
The last row is the real difference. In Odoo, a mailing click, a lead, a quote and the paid invoice live in one database. In HubSpot, the paid invoice usually lives in another system you sync with.
How does HubSpot Marketing Hub pricing compare with Odoo pricing?
HubSpot Marketing Hub pricing climbs by tier and by contact count, while Odoo charges one per-user price for all apps and nothing per contact. That gap is small for a tiny team on Starter and large on Professional or Enterprise.
HubSpot's Marketing Hub pricing page, checked on 31 October 2026, shows these list prices in US dollars:
- Starter: from US$20 per seat a month, with new-customer promotional rates from US$7; 1,000 marketing contacts.
- Professional: from US$800 a month with an annual commitment (US$890 paid monthly), 3 core seats included, extra core seats from US$45; 2,000 marketing contacts; required one-time onboarding of US$3,000.
- Enterprise: from US$3,600 a month, 5 core seats included, extra core seats US$75; 10,000 marketing contacts; one-time onboarding of US$7,000.
On the Odoo pricing page, the US price billed yearly is US$31.10 per user a month for Standard and US$61.00 for Custom, with first-year prices of US$24.90 and US$49.00. In India it is Rs 725 and Rs 1,350. Every app is included, so marketing users also get CRM, Sales and Accounting.
HubSpot also sells extra marketing contacts at any time, and its FAQ does not list a per-contact price. Ask your HubSpot rep for the price of your real contact count before you compare.
What does a real cost table look like for a 3-person marketing team?

For a team of three marketers with up to 2,000 contacts, Odoo's license line is a fraction of HubSpot Professional, but implementation narrows the gap in year one. The table is illustrative and uses list prices only.
| Line (illustrative, US list prices) | HubSpot Starter | HubSpot Professional | HubSpot Enterprise | Odoo Standard |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Seats or users | 3 seats | 3 core seats included | 5 core seats included | 3 users |
| Monthly software | US$60 | US$800 | US$3,600 | US$93.30 |
| Yearly software | US$720 | US$9,600 | US$43,200 | US$1,119.60 |
| One-time onboarding or setup | None required | US$3,000 | US$7,000 | US$3,000 to US$9,000 (our small-project range) |
| Year one total | US$720 | US$12,600 | US$50,200 | US$4,120 to US$10,120 |
| Contacts included | 1,000 | 2,000 | 10,000 | No per-contact fee |
Two things the competitor claim of "ten times less" leaves out. First, HubSpot Starter costs less than Odoo for a very small, marketing-only team. Second, Odoo needs setup, and our published Odoo implementation cost ranges apply.
Over five years, the HubSpot Professional line in this example is about US$51,000 before contact growth, against about US$5,600 in Odoo Standard licenses plus setup. The Odoo case gets stronger when sales and finance users join, since their apps cost nothing extra.
Odoo email marketing vs HubSpot: which sends better campaigns?
HubSpot has the more polished email tools and higher send allowances, while Odoo email marketing covers the core well and adds per-recipient click tracking in Odoo 20. For most B2B newsletters, both are enough.
Odoo Email Marketing gives you a drag-and-drop editor, mailing lists, A/B testing, unsubscribe and blacklist handling, and open and click rates. Mailings can target leads, contacts, event attendees or a saved filter.
Odoo 20 added 14 Email Marketing changes. The useful ones for marketers are listed on our Odoo 20 Email Marketing release notes:
- Click tracking: see which recipient clicked which link and when.
- Dynamic mailing lists: lists that follow a filter instead of a static import.
- Template library: save a mailing as a template and reuse it.
- Conditional content: show blocks only to some recipients.
- Product and event snippets: drop live products or events into a mailing.
The limit to plan for is sending volume. Odoo's own email FAQ says the default daily limit on Odoo Online "varies between 5 and 200 emails", and you can ask support to raise it or use an external outgoing mail server.
Real users hit this. On the Odoo forum, one team said support raised their quota from 250 to 500 in steps after they hit the daily email limit on Odoo Online. For bulk newsletters, plan an outside mail server from day one.
What does Odoo 20 marketing automation add?
Odoo 20 marketing automation now starts campaigns from events, dates, webhooks or on demand, and draws them as a visual flow. This closes much of the gap with HubSpot workflows for nurture journeys.
Our Odoo 20 Marketing Automation release notes list six changes. Five are Enterprise only:
- Event triggers: start when someone subscribes to a list, visits a page, submits a form, adds a product to the cart or buys it.
- More trigger types: filter, event, date, anniversary, manual and webhook.
- New waits: "Wait for a value" and "Collect any reply" steps.
- Webhook trigger: an outside system can add participants in real time.
- Visual workflow builder: steps such as delay, send email and checkpoint, with branching paths.
- AI campaign assistant: an "Ask AI" option drafts the campaign from a prompt.
The Marketing Automation documentation notes that it installs Email Marketing, and that CRM and SMS Marketing unlock the full feature set.
The AI assistant runs on Odoo AI credits, which cost EUR 1 per credit on Odoo's IAP service page. Our guide to Odoo 20 AI features and IAP credits shows what a month of use costs.
How does attribution work in HubSpot vs Odoo?
HubSpot gives you modeled attribution reports in Enterprise, while Odoo gives you UTM tracking that follows a lead all the way to the sales order and invoice. One is deeper modeling; the other is a cleaner link to real revenue.
HubSpot's pricing page lists multi-touch revenue attribution in Enterprise only, tracking up to 10,000 logged interactions per contact. Professional lists custom reporting with up to 100 custom reports.
Odoo records UTM campaign, medium and source on links, leads and sales orders. In Odoo 20, mailings no longer create a new UTM source for every send; a new Reference field points to the exact mailing or social post. That keeps your source list clean.
Out of the box, Odoo does not ship weighted multi-touch models in our experience. What it does well is closed-loop revenue: you can group confirmed sales and invoices by UTM campaign without exporting anything. If you need W-shaped or custom models, HubSpot Enterprise is the stronger tool.
| Attribution need | HubSpot | Odoo 20 |
|---|---|---|
| First or last source on a lead | Yes | Yes, via UTM fields |
| Multi-touch revenue models | Enterprise only | Not built in |
| Campaign to invoiced revenue | Needs a synced ERP or Commerce tools | Native, same database |
| Per-recipient link clicks | Yes | Yes, new in Odoo 20 |
| Custom reports | Professional and up | Pivot views, dashboards, spreadsheets |
Odoo CRM vs HubSpot: what happens after the lead?
HubSpot's CRM is easier for pure sales teams, while Odoo CRM turns a won lead into a quote, delivery and invoice with no sync. If your sales cycle ends in stock or billing, that matters more than CRM polish.
HubSpot's Smart CRM is free, but sales users who need sequences, forecasting or quotes need Sales Hub seats on top of Marketing Hub. Odoo CRM is included in the same per-user price, and our Odoo CRM guide walks through the flow from lead to invoice.
Many companies keep HubSpot for marketing and run Odoo for sales and operations. That is a valid setup, not a half-migration.
Can you run an Odoo HubSpot integration and keep both?
Yes, an Odoo HubSpot integration is common: HubSpot keeps the marketing contacts and Odoo owns customers, orders and invoices. The work is in deciding which system owns each record.
A forum user asking about a HubSpot integration with Odoo got one key question back: just contacts, or also deals, products, quotes and invoices? Answer that first. A typical scope looks like this:
- HubSpot to Odoo: new contacts, companies and marketing-qualified leads.
- Odoo to HubSpot: customer status, order totals and lifetime revenue, so lists and scoring use real sales data.
- Owner rules: HubSpot owns consent and email preferences; Odoo owns legal names, addresses and prices.
The Odoo external API needs the Custom plan. In Odoo 20, XML-RPC and JSON-RPC are deprecated and scheduled for removal in Odoo 22, so build new links on the JSON-2 API. Our guide to Odoo JSON-2 API migration covers the change, and our Odoo integration services build and maintain these syncs.
Which is better for your industry, Odoo or HubSpot?
HubSpot fits marketing-led businesses with long nurture cycles, while Odoo fits companies whose marketing must tie to stock, subscriptions or invoices. The table shows where each one usually lands.
| Industry | Pain or cost driver | Odoo approach | How iVentureTeam helps |
|---|---|---|---|
| B2B SaaS | Contact tiers grow faster than revenue | Subscriptions, CRM and email in one database | Map lead to subscription revenue by UTM |
| Manufacturing and distribution | Campaigns cannot see stock or margins | Mailings with product snippets, sales tied to stock | Set up product campaigns and dealer lists |
| eCommerce and retail | Cart and purchase events live in the shop | Odoo 20 cart and purchase triggers | Build abandoned-cart and reorder journeys |
| Professional services | Small lists, high-value leads | CRM, Email Marketing and Projects | Keep HubSpot if heavy, or move to Odoo |
| Events and education | Registrations and reminders | Events, Email and SMS Marketing | Automate reminders and follow-ups |
How do you choose between Odoo and HubSpot Marketing?
Answer six questions and the choice is usually clear. If most answers point to Odoo, price the move; if most point to HubSpot, stay and connect it to your ERP.
- Attribution: do you need multi-touch revenue models, or is campaign to invoice enough?
- Contacts: how many marketing contacts will you hold in three years?
- Volume: how many emails a month, and can you run your own outgoing mail server?
- Users: how many people outside marketing need CRM, sales or finance apps?
- Back office: do quotes, stock or subscriptions drive your revenue?
- Skills: does your team live in HubSpot today, and what does retraining cost?

Odoo vs HubSpot marketing case study: DataTile
A UK SaaS company moved its website and lead capture into Odoo so it could see the whole funnel, from visitor to paying subscriber, in one place. DataTile had no CRM, so website inquiries and demo requests were tracked by hand.
We rebuilt the site in Odoo Website and connected two lead forms straight to Odoo CRM, so every inquiry creates a lead. Odoo Live Chat added a second capture channel, and GA4 and Google Tag Manager now track visitors and campaigns.
We also automated four billing rules in Sales and Subscriptions, including renewals aligned to each customer's financial year. The project ran 12 weeks including delivery and support. Read the DataTile website, CRM and subscriptions case study.
The bottom line on Odoo vs HubSpot marketing
Choose HubSpot if marketing is your core engine and you need deep attribution models; choose Odoo 20 if you want marketing tied to sales, stock and invoices at a much lower license cost. Many companies run both.
Price five years on both sides with your real contact count, test one nurture journey in each, and check your email volume against Odoo's sending limits. The answer is usually clear after that.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Odoo a good HubSpot alternative?
+
For companies that want marketing tied to CRM, sales and invoices, yes. Odoo covers email, automation, SMS and social. Teams that need multi-touch attribution models or very large send volumes may still prefer HubSpot.
Does HubSpot cost less than Odoo?
+
Only for very small, marketing-only teams on HubSpot Starter. From Professional upward, HubSpot's seat, contact and onboarding fees usually make Odoo the lower license cost, though Odoo needs implementation.
How much does HubSpot Marketing Hub Professional cost?
+
HubSpot lists it from US$800 a month with an annual commitment, or US$890 paid monthly, with 3 core seats and 2,000 marketing contacts. A one-time US$3,000 onboarding fee is required.
Does Odoo charge per marketing contact?
+
No. Odoo charges per internal user, and contacts are not billed. On Odoo Online, the daily email limit applies, so large senders ask support for a higher quota or use an external mail server.
Is Odoo marketing automation included in the Standard plan?
+
Yes. Odoo's Standard plan includes all apps, including Email Marketing and Marketing Automation. Studio, multi-company and the external API need the Custom plan.
Can Odoo track campaign ROI?
+
Yes. Odoo stores UTM campaign, medium and source on leads and sales orders, so you can report confirmed revenue by campaign. It does not include weighted multi-touch attribution models.
Can I connect HubSpot to Odoo?
+
Yes. Use the Odoo external API on the Custom plan to sync contacts, deals and order data. Build new syncs on the JSON-2 API, as XML-RPC and JSON-RPC are deprecated in Odoo 20.
How long does a HubSpot to Odoo marketing move take?
+
A focused move of contacts, lists, consent and templates often takes a few weeks. Rebuilding complex workflows and reports adds time, so run both tools in parallel for one campaign cycle.
