AI ERP Comparison: Odoo 20 vs SAP, Dynamics, Oracle and Zoho Costs
AI ERP comparison for 2026: what Odoo 20, SAP Joule, Dynamics 365 Copilot, Oracle AI agents and Zoho Zia ship, and how each one prices its AI usage.
Most AI ERP comparison articles rate vendors as "low" or "high" cost with no price or source. This guide shows what each ERP ships and how its AI is billed, from vendor pages. Our AI integration services for Odoo start with that same cost check.
It is for owners, CFOs and IT leads shortlisting an ERP who want to know what the AI costs. For the full list of ERPs we compare, see our ERP comparison hub.
What does AI in ERP actually mean in 2026?
AI in ERP in 2026 means three layers: an assistant you chat with, agents that act on records, and a way to plug in outside AI tools. The labels differ by vendor, but the layers are the same.
- Assistant: a chat window that answers questions, summarizes records and drafts text, such as Joule, Copilot or Odoo's Ask AI.
- Agents: AI that creates or updates records, often on a schedule or trigger, with a human confirming the risky steps.
- Embedded features: smaller AI inside screens, such as bill scanning or lead scoring.
- Open connection: a protocol or studio that lets you bring your own model or connect an outside AI tool.
AI ERP comparison: what each vendor ships

Each vendor now ships an assistant and agents, but the billing model is what really separates them. The table compares what is shipped and how it is billed, based on each vendor's official pages in October 2026.
| Vendor | AI assistant | Agents | How AI is billed | Price published? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Odoo 20 | Ask AI, AI chat, voice | Agents with triggers, create and update records | Odoo AI credits, EUR 1 each | Yes |
| SAP | Joule | Joule Agents in Premium packages | Base included; Premium on AI Units | Base only; Premium by quote |
| Microsoft Dynamics 365 | Copilot | Sales Order Agent, Payables Agent, Sales agents | Included Copilot; agents use Copilot Credits | Credit packs yes |
| Oracle Fusion | Embedded AI | 50+ prebuilt agents, AI Agent Studio | Included in subscription | Custom agent usage not public |
| Zoho | Zia | Zia Agents | Free platform; tokens metered | Free tier yes; overage not listed |
The assistant is now mostly included. Agents and heavy usage are where the meter runs, and "included" rarely means unlimited.
Odoo 20 AI: what ships and what it costs
Odoo 20 ships a full AI app with agents, voice and MCP, and every AI request is paid with Odoo AI credits. Odoo's documentation says AI "usage consumes IAP credits".
According to Odoo's AI documentation, Odoo AI runs through Odoo's In-App Purchase service. Our Odoo 20 AI release notes list all 20 AI changes, and every one is marked Enterprise only.
What Odoo 20 AI ships:
- Agent triggers: run on a schedule, a date, a new record or a field change.
- Record actions: create and update records after you confirm a preview.
- Files and voice: ask about a PDF or image, or dictate requests.
- MCP server: outside AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT can connect through an API key with the MCP scope.
- No model picker: Odoo's AI service chooses the model; the old settings for your own OpenAI or Gemini key are gone.
On the Odoo AI credits page, credits are listed at EUR 1 each, with 20 free credits. Odoo says "Credit usage varies based on the specific AI feature, task complexity, and the size of your request", so measure before you buy large packs.
AI sits on top of the license. Odoo Standard is US$31.10 and Custom is US$61.00 per user a month billed yearly in the US. Our Odoo 20 AI credits cost breakdown shows a sample monthly budget.
SAP Joule pricing: Base vs Premium and AI Units
SAP includes Joule Base in its cloud subscriptions at no cost, but Joule Premium and agents run on AI Units that SAP prices by quote. That makes SAP's AI the hardest to budget before talking to sales.
The SAP Business AI pricing page lists Base AI at USD 0.00 and says it "can be used without limits or additional cost". Base covers navigation, help content and basic create, read, update and delete actions.
Premium packages for finance, spend, supply chain, HR and customer experience each show "Request a quote". SAP says Premium is priced per user per month or by consumption, with tiers from 8 down to 1 AI Unit per user per month.
SAP's own Joule commercial model course adds the fine print. Premium includes a fair-use request limit per user, overage costs 2 AI Units per 1,000 requests, and Joule Agents sit inside the premium packages. AI Units are bought annually and expire after 12 months if unused.
The price of one AI Unit is not publicly listed. For the wider SAP licence picture, see our Odoo vs SAP 5-year TCO guide.
Copilot for Dynamics 365 pricing: included features, agents and Copilot Credits
Microsoft includes Copilot in Business Central and in Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise, but agents draw on Copilot Credits that you buy in packs or pay as you go. The split is between help on screen and agents doing work.
Microsoft's Business Central Copilot overview says Copilot "is included with your Business Central license at no extra cost", but adds that "fair-use policies, quotas, or pricing might be introduced later".
Agents are different: Microsoft says the Sales Order Agent and similar capabilities charge for Copilot Studio messages, prepaid or pay-as-you-go through Azure.
The Copilot Studio pricing page lists US$200.00 per pack a month for 25,000 Copilot Credits. That works out to US$0.008 per credit, our own arithmetic. The pay-as-you-go rate is not shown on that page.
The Dynamics 365 Sales pricing page lists Sales Enterprise, with Copilot and prebuilt agents, at US$105.00 per user a month; Sales Premium at US$150.00 adds 1,000 Copilot Credits per user.
Oracle AI agents in Fusion: included, with limits
Oracle says its embedded AI agents and AI Agent Studio come with the Fusion Cloud Applications subscription at no additional cost. The cost question moves to custom agents and the models they use.
Oracle's March 2025 launch release called AI Agent Studio "available at no additional cost" and cited 50+ prebuilt Fusion agents. A June 2025 Oracle blog added "we don't charge additional subscription fees for embedded agents or AI Agent Studio".
The same blog says "custom agents that use non-standard models may incur predictable utilization costs". Oracle also documents a Custom AI Agent Subscription, with no public price.
Zoho Zia pricing: free agents, metered tokens
Zoho does not charge for building or running Zia Agents, but you pay for the model tokens once you pass the free allowance. It is the most open pricing model of the five.
Zoho's Zia Agents pricing page says building, deploying and managing agents has no charge. Zoho-hosted models include 30 million free tokens a month on the Standard tier and 20 million on the Pro tier, resetting on the 1st of each month.
Above that, Zoho charges per million tokens without listing the rate, or you bring your own OpenAI, Gemini or Claude key.

Odoo AI vs SAP and the others: where each one wins
Odoo AI wins on published, per-request pricing for small and mid-size firms, while SAP, Microsoft and Oracle win when you already run their stack. Zoho wins on free agent building.
- Odoo 20: clear credit pricing, agents inside every app, and MCP for outside tools; best for SMEs that want one ERP and a budget they can measure.
- SAP: deep finance and supply chain skills in Joule Premium; best for companies already on SAP cloud, with budgets set by quote.
- Microsoft: Copilot inside Outlook, Teams and Dynamics; best for Microsoft 365 shops that can track Copilot Credit use.
- Oracle: bundled agents in Fusion; best for large enterprises already paying for the suite.
- Zoho: free agents and a large free token allowance; best for Zoho-first teams with light ERP needs.
Weak spots: Odoo AI needs Enterprise and does not publish credits per request, SAP and Oracle keep key prices behind quotes, and Microsoft may add Copilot quotas.

How do you choose the best AI ERP for 2026?

Choose the ERP that fits your operations first, then price its AI for your real volumes. The best AI ERP for 2026 rarely has the longest agent list.
- Fit: shortlist ERPs on processes, users and budget before you look at AI.
- Layers: list which AI layers you will use: assistant, agents, embedded features or outside tools.
- Included or metered: for each layer, ask whether it is in the license or billed by credits, units or tokens.
- Volumes: estimate monthly documents, chats and agent runs, and ask the vendor to convert them to cost.
- Limits: ask about fair-use caps, overage rates and when credits expire.
- Exit: check whether you can bring your own model, so you are not locked into one AI price.

AI in ERP case study: LabMart (custom AI across Zoho Desk and Odoo)
A healthcare SaaS company needed AI that understood its clinical terms, so we built a custom agent across Zoho Desk and Odoo instead of buying a generic tool. LabMart operates across the USA and India.
Tickets had grown four times year on year, first response had slipped from 2 to 18 hours, and two generic AI helpdesk tools had failed on clinical terms.
We built a multi-model classifier using Llama 3.1, GPT-4o and Claude Sonnet 4, wired into Zoho Desk for tickets and Odoo Helpdesk for escalations. Odoo CRM is updated on every customer-impacting ticket, and anything under a 78% confidence score goes to a human.
The agent went live in 7 weeks. It handles 1,800 tickets a week, auto-classifies 92% of them, and cut first response from 18 hours to 4.5 minutes. Read the LabMart AI and Zoho automation case study.
The bottom line on AI ERP comparison
Odoo 20 offers the clearest AI pricing for small and mid-size firms, while SAP, Microsoft and Oracle make most sense when you already run their suite. Zoho is the low-cost entry for Zoho-first teams.
Pick the ERP on fit, ask which AI layer is metered, measure a month of real use, then commit to packs, units or premium tiers.
