Odoo Success Pack Explained: Hours, Price, Limits and Partner Option
Odoo Success Pack explained: what the 4 to 200 hours cover, US prices, the real hourly rate, what is left out and when an Odoo partner is the better route.
The Odoo Success Pack is the first implementation offer most small buyers see, usually right after a demo. Before you sign, compare its hours with a scoped Odoo implementation cost estimate, so you know whether the pack covers the whole job or only the start.
This guide is for owners, finance leads and operations managers choosing how to implement Odoo 20. If you have already decided to use a partner, our guide to the best Odoo implementation partners covers how to shortlist one.
What is the Odoo Success Pack?
The Odoo Success Pack is a bundle of consulting hours sold by Odoo, used by an Odoo consultant to analyze, configure and train you on your apps. Odoo preselects a pack size based on the apps you choose, but you can pick a different one.
On the Odoo Success Packs page, Odoo lists five packs. The prices below are the US prices shown on 29 October 2026.
| Pack | Hours | Recommended for | Returning customers | New customers (15% off) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 4 | Simple apps, 1 to 5 users | US$580 | US$493 |
| Basic | 25 | Simple apps | US$3,600 | US$3,060 |
| Standard | 50 | Advanced apps, data import | US$7,000 | US$5,950 |
| Custom | 100 | Advanced apps, data import, customizations | US$12,500 | US$10,625 |
| Pro | 200 | All of the above plus a dedicated consultant | US$25,000 | US$21,250 |
The 15% discount applies automatically to new customers, for their first pack only. Odoo also says its consultants "will do their best efforts" to get you started within the hours of the pack, which is a best-effort promise, not a scope guarantee.
The pack sits on top of your license. In the US, Odoo Standard is US$31.10 and Custom is US$61.00 per user a month billed yearly, with first-year prices of US$24.90 and US$49.00. Our Odoo pricing guide breaks down the license side.
What do Odoo Success Pack hours cover?
Odoo Success Pack hours cover configuration, training and coaching in every pack, and add project management, data import, customizations and developments as the pack gets larger. The table shows what Odoo lists for each pack.
| Service | Starter (4 h) | Basic (25 h) | Standard (50 h) | Custom (100 h) | Pro (200 h) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Email and phone support | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Training and coaching | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Configuration | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Project management | No | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Data import assistance | No | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Customizations (forms, reports, workflow) | No | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Onsite consulting | No | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Developments | No | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Performance issues | No | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Odoo describes the work as planned sessions over the telephone or online. The consultant first analyzes how your business runs, then suggests how to use the standard Odoo apps.
Performance work has its own rule. Odoo says performance problems are not handled through free support, and it requires a Success Pack of at least 50 hours for performance monitoring, audits and code refactoring.
What does the Odoo Success Pack not cover?
The Odoo Success Pack does not give you a fixed scope, a total project budget or a named team that stays until go-live. These are the gaps buyers most often find after the hours run out.
- No total estimate: the pack is sized from your app list, not from a written gap analysis of your processes.
- No end point: when the hours are used, the project continues only if you buy another pack.
- Travel: for onsite consulting, travel time is billed from the pack and travel expenses are billed separately.
- Code maintenance: Odoo says extra monthly charges apply for the maintenance of extra modules or lines of code.
- Hosting limits: Odoo Online is incompatible with custom modules, so developments need Odoo.sh or on-premise hosting on the Custom plan.
The Odoo pricing page also lists what no plan includes: implementation services, access to Odoo expert services, In-App Purchase credits and maintenance of custom code. So a Success Pack is always an extra line in your budget.
How much does an Odoo Success Pack cost per hour?
The Odoo Success Pack price works out to about US$106 to US$145 per hour, depending on pack size and whether you are a new customer. We calculated these rates by dividing Odoo's published pack price by its hours.
| Pack | Hours | Effective rate, returning | Effective rate, new customer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 4 | US$145 per hour | about US$123 per hour |
| Basic | 25 | US$144 per hour | about US$122 per hour |
| Standard | 50 | US$140 per hour | US$119 per hour |
| Custom | 100 | US$125 per hour | about US$106 per hour |
| Pro | 200 | US$125 per hour | about US$106 per hour |
The hourly rate is only half the picture. What matters is how many hours your project needs, and a pack does not answer that.
For comparison, our published Odoo implementation ranges are US$3k to US$9k for small projects (4 to 8 weeks), US$9k to US$27k for mid-size (8 to 14 weeks) and US$27k to US$150k+ for large ones (12 to 24 weeks).
Data migration adds US$1.2k to US$9k, depending on the source system and years of history.
How far do 25, 50 or 100 Odoo Success Pack hours go?
Odoo Success Pack hours go further than most buyers expect on standard apps, and much less far once data, accounting and custom reports are involved. The split below is illustrative, for a 15-user trading company, not an Odoo figure.
- Analysis (6 to 10 hours): walk through sales, purchase, stock and accounting flows with the consultant.
- Configuration (8 to 15 hours): company, taxes, warehouses, product categories, price lists and approval rules.
- Data import (5 to 12 hours): customers, vendors, products, opening stock and open invoices, including test loads.
- Training (6 to 10 hours): key-user sessions per app, plus a short refresher before go-live.
- Reports and tweaks (5 to 15 hours): quotation and invoice layouts, a few fields and views.
In this illustrative case, a 25-hour Basic pack runs out around configuration, and a 50-hour Standard pack is tight. The real number depends on how clean your data is and how quickly your team makes decisions.
Scope gaps cause more overruns than slow work. In one Odoo forum thread, a team that went live on purchasing, POS and inventory without touching accounting ended up with about 1,200 vendor bills to fix and an inventory valuation that no longer matched reality.
Odoo Success Pack vs partner: which route fits?

An Odoo Success Pack fits a small company with standard processes, while an Odoo implementation partner fits when scope, local compliance or integrations matter. Odoo itself draws the line at company size.
Odoo's pricing FAQ says small companies of under 50 employees usually work directly with Odoo using Success Packs. Companies over 50 employees usually work with a partner for local project management, and those over 250 are asked to contact Odoo directly.
| Factor | Odoo Success Pack | Odoo implementation partner |
|---|---|---|
| What you buy | Prepaid hours | A scoped project or a time-based plan |
| Scope document | App list and preselected pack | Gap analysis and written scope |
| Budget visibility | Hours only, top up if needed | Total estimate before you start |
| Delivery | Remote sessions; onsite from 50 hours | Remote, onsite or mixed |
| Local depth | General Odoo knowledge | Local tax, payroll and reporting experience |
| Custom code and integrations | Developments from 50 hours | Built, tested and maintained as part of the plan |
| Best fit | Under 50 employees, standard apps | Growth, several entities, manufacturing |
Odoo also makes a performance claim on its packs page: a 98% implementation success rate with a Success Pack against 65% without one. That is Odoo's own figure and it compares a pack with self-implementation, not with a partner.
If you choose a partner, use our Odoo implementation proposal scorecard to compare bids on scope, not just on hourly rate.
When is an Odoo Success Pack enough, and when is it not?
An Odoo Success Pack is enough when your processes match standard Odoo and someone in your team can own the project day to day. It is not enough when the hard parts of your project sit outside standard apps.
A Success Pack is usually enough when:
- you have fewer than 50 employees and one company;
- you sell services or trade goods without production;
- you can use standard reports with light layout changes;
- your data is clean and you can import most of it yourself;
- an internal owner has time to test, decide and train others.
A partner is usually the better route when:
- you run several companies with intercompany flows or consolidation;
- you manufacture, with bills of materials, routings and quality checks;
- you need local e-invoicing, payroll or statutory reports set up and tested;
- you must connect eCommerce channels, banks, a 3PL or legacy systems;
- you have a fixed go-live date tied to a financial year end.
Contract style matters too. Our guide to fixed-fee vs time and materials Odoo pricing explains how each model shares risk between you and the implementer.
Odoo Success Pack or partner by industry
Service and simple trading firms can often succeed with a Success Pack, while manufacturers, distributors and multi-channel sellers usually need a partner. The table shows where the cost and risk usually come from.
| Industry | Pain or cost driver | Odoo approach | How iVentureTeam helps |
|---|---|---|---|
| Professional services | Timesheets and billing rules | Project, Timesheets, Invoicing | Set up billing rules, train managers |
| Retail and POS | Store stock, cash control, receipts | Point of Sale with Inventory | Configure shops, migrate products and stock |
| Wholesale and distribution | Multi-warehouse routes, landed costs | Inventory, Purchase, barcode | Design routes, test valuation before go-live |
| Manufacturing | BOMs, work orders, costing | Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance | Map production, build and test MRP flows |
| eCommerce | Channel sync and order flow | Website, eCommerce, connectors | Integrate channels with one stock ledger |
| Multi-company groups | Intercompany and consolidation | Multi-company on the Custom plan | Design company structure and reporting |
How do you decide between an Odoo Success Pack and a partner?

Answer six questions before you buy any hours, and the right route is usually clear. If most answers are "no", a Success Pack is a sensible start; if several are "yes", get a partner estimate.
- Size: do you have more than 50 employees or plan to within two years?
- Entities: will Odoo run more than one company?
- Production: do you make or assemble products?
- Compliance: do you need local e-invoicing, payroll or statutory filings configured?
- Integrations: must Odoo connect to stores, marketplaces, banks or other systems?
- Ownership: is there nobody inside who can run the project for 8 to 14 weeks?

Odoo implementation case study: KMF Technologies
An IT services and hardware firm in The Gambia needed local accounting and custom documents on top of standard Odoo apps, the kind of work that stretches a small pack. KMF Technologies supplies IT services, hardware and network infrastructure across West Africa.
Its back office ran on manual tracking. Products and categories lived in hand-kept lists, there was no real-time stock view, and sales, purchase and store teams could not see each other's data.
We ran a seven-phase implementation of Sales, Purchase, Inventory and Accounting, from requirements to post-go-live support.
The work included a custom chart of accounts for The Gambia, four custom PDF formats for quotations, sales orders, invoices and purchase orders, and a full product master import with integrity checks.
The phased rollout took 8 weeks and ended with live stock levels across warehouses and staff trained on every module. Read the KMF Technologies Odoo inventory implementation case study.
The bottom line on the Odoo Success Pack
Buy an Odoo Success Pack when your company is small, your processes are standard and you can own the project; choose a partner when scope, compliance or integrations decide success. Either way, size the project before you size the hours.
A pack is a fair price for expert time, but it is a budget, not a plan. List your processes, data and must-have reports, then compare a pack with a scoped partner estimate on the same list.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an Odoo Success Pack?
+
It is a prepaid block of consulting hours bought from Odoo, from 4 to 200 hours. An Odoo consultant uses the hours in online or phone sessions to analyze your needs, configure apps and train your team.
How much does an Odoo Success Pack cost?
+
Odoo's US prices run from US$580 for the 4-hour Starter pack to US$25,000 for the 200-hour Pro pack. New customers get 15% off their first pack, so the range starts at US$493.
How many hours are in an Odoo Success Pack?
+
Odoo sells five sizes: Starter 4 hours, Basic 25, Standard 50, Custom 100 and Pro 200. Odoo preselects a pack based on the apps you choose, but the right size depends on your data and processes.
Do Odoo Success Pack hours include customization?
+
Customizations of forms, reports and workflows start with the 25-hour Basic pack. Developments start at 50 hours, and Odoo charges extra monthly fees for maintaining extra modules or lines of code.
Is the Odoo Success Pack worth it?
+
It is good value for a small company with standard processes and an internal project owner. It is weaker value when you need integrations, manufacturing, several companies or local compliance, because the hours often run out early.
Is the Odoo Success Pack onsite or remote?
+
Sessions are planned over the phone or online. Onsite consulting is listed from the 50-hour Standard pack, with travel time billed from your hours and travel expenses billed separately.
Should I use an Odoo Success Pack or an Odoo partner?
+
Odoo says companies under 50 employees usually work directly with Odoo through Success Packs, and larger ones usually use a partner. Complexity matters as much as size, so compare a pack with a scoped partner estimate.
What happens when my Success Pack hours run out?
+
The project only continues if you buy more hours or move to a partner. Track hours used against a written scope from the start, so you see an overrun before it stops the rollout.
