Standard

It includes hosting, support, upgrades, backups, and maintenance. What it does not allow is Odoo Studio, multiple companies on one database, or external API access.

Custom

Custom adds the tools serious deployments need: Odoo Studio, multi-company, external API, and your choice of hosting. At $61.00 per user/month for the first year and $76.20 after, it suits companies that will customize Odoo or run more than one legal entity on a single database.

It also lets you host on Odoo.sh or on-premise instead of Odoo Online. If a partner is building custom modules for you, you almost always need this tier.

Is Odoo free? Community vs Enterprise

Yes, Odoo has a genuinely free edition called Community, but it is not the same product as the paid Enterprise plans. The Odoo Community edition is open source and carries no per-user license fee.

You download it, host it yourself, and use its core apps. It is a real option for teams with in-house technical people who can manage servers, updates, and security.

Odoo Enterprise, the Standard and Custom plans, adds full accounting, a better studio, mobile apps, official support, hosting, and one-click upgrades.
