Odoo Modules List for Odoo 19 and 20: Every App by Edition and Purpose cover

Most "Odoo modules list" articles were written for Odoo 15 or earlier, mix apps with features, and never say which edition includes what. This guide lists every Odoo 19 and 20 app by category, edition and purpose. Our Odoo implementation services start with exactly this scoping step.

It is for owners, operations leads and IT managers comparing Odoo apps for a first implementation or an upgrade. If you are new to the platform, read what Odoo software is first, then come back for the list.

What is the difference between Odoo apps and Odoo modules?

An Odoo app is a top-level package with its own menu icon, while an Odoo module is any installable package, including the smaller pieces an app depends on. Every app is a module, but most modules are not apps.

The Apps menu shows apps by default. The Odoo 20 docs on apps and modules explain that you must add the "Extra" filter to see modules too. That filter reveals hundreds of entries: country localizations, connectors, bridges between two apps, and technical glue.

This matters for three reasons:

  • Pricing: Odoo charges per user, not per app, so the app count never changes your license. What changes it is the plan, covered below.
  • Dependencies: the docs warn that installing some apps "may also install additional apps and modules that are technically required". eCommerce, for example, brings Website and Invoicing with it.
  • Uninstalling: the same page says uninstalling apps "also deletes their database records", so test removals on a duplicate database first.

The phrase "Odoo ERP modules" in search results usually means the apps. This list uses "app" for the menu-level packages and "module" for everything else.

How many apps does Odoo have in Odoo 19 and 20?

Odoo has 49 apps on its official all-apps page, about 63 once you add the apps the Odoo 20 documentation treats separately, and 70-plus in a live Enterprise Apps menu that shows connectors. The honest answer depends on what you count.

CountWhat it includesSource
49 appsNine categories on Odoo's all-apps page, plus WhatsApp in its menuodoo.com/page/all-apps
63 appsAdds Payroll, Attendances, Frontdesk, Lunch, Barcode, Repairs, Shop Floor, Marketing Card, Dashboards, Calendar, To-Do, Data Cleaning, Amazon ConnectorOdoo 20 docs and editions page
70-plus entriesAdds DHL, UPS, FedEx and other shipping connectors and payment providers shown as appsApps menu of an Enterprise database
Thousands of modulesThe "Extra" filter: localizations, bridges, technical modulesApps menu with Extra filter

Competing lists give figures from 30 to 1,000-plus without saying what they count. Use the 63 figure when you plan a project, because those are the apps a business user will actually open. Our Odoo 20 release notes track 585 changes across 52 of them.

Odoo finance and accounting modules list

Odoo's finance apps cover invoicing, full accounting, expenses, documents, e-signature, spreadsheets and ESG reporting, but only Invoicing and Expenses are in Community. This is where the edition decision bites hardest.

AppEditionWhat it doesWho needs it
InvoicingCommunityInvoices, vendor bills, payments, basic journalsEvery company
AccountingEnterpriseGeneral ledger, bank reconciliation, reports, tax returns, localizationsCompanies closing their own books
ExpensesCommunityExpense claims, approval, reimbursementTeams with travel or field staff
PayrollEnterpriseSalary rules, payslips, payroll localizationsIn-house payroll
DocumentsEnterpriseFile storage, OCR on bills, workflowsFinance teams drowning in PDFs
SignEnterpriseElectronic signatures on contracts and quotesSales, HR, legal
SpreadsheetEnterpriseLive spreadsheets and dashboards on Odoo dataFinance and management reporting
ESGEnterpriseCarbon and sustainability reportingFirms with ESG disclosure duties

The Odoo editions page marks Accounting as Enterprise only, which confuses many new users. On the Odoo forum, one asker argued the page must be wrong because invoices create ledger entries anyway.

The best answer explained that Community includes Invoicing as the basic form of accounting, with more unlocked by the "Show Full Accounting Features" group. Another reply on Odoo 18 Community was blunter: "you will need add-ons for reporting and other functionality".

Odoo sales, CRM and POS modules list

Odoo's sales apps run from lead to cash: CRM, Sales and Point of Sale are free in Community, while Subscriptions, Rental and the Amazon Connector need Enterprise. Most companies start here.

AppEditionWhat it doesWho needs it
CRMCommunityPipeline, leads, activities, forecastsAny team with a sales cycle
SalesCommunityQuotations, orders, pricelists, online signatureEvery company that sells
Point of Sale (Shop)CommunityRetail checkout, offline mode, loyalty, receiptsShops and showrooms
Point of Sale (Restaurant)CommunityTables, kitchen display, split bills, tipsRestaurants, cafes, bars
SubscriptionsEnterpriseRecurring plans, renewals, churn, MRR reportsSaaS, memberships, contracts
RentalEnterpriseRental orders, pickup and return, late feesEquipment and vehicle rental
Amazon ConnectorEnterpriseSync Amazon orders and deliveries with SalesMarketplace sellers

CRM and Sales are the two apps most often chosen under the One App Free plan. Pick one, and dependencies such as Contacts and Discuss come free with it.

Odoo supply chain modules: inventory, manufacturing and purchase

Odoo's supply chain apps include Inventory, Manufacturing, Purchase, Maintenance and Repairs in Community, with Barcode, Quality, PLM and Shop Floor reserved for Enterprise. Product companies usually need five or more of these together.

AppEditionWhat it doesWho needs it
InventoryCommunityWarehouses, routes, lots and serials, reordering, valuationAnyone holding stock
PurchaseCommunityRFQs, purchase orders, vendor pricelists, receiptsAnyone buying goods
ManufacturingCommunityBills of materials, manufacturing orders, work ordersMakers and assemblers
Shop FloorEnterpriseTablet view for operators, work order control panelFactories with workstations

PLMEnterpriseEngineering change orders, BOM versionsFirms with frequent design changes
MaintenanceCommunityEquipment, preventive and corrective requestsPlants with machines
BarcodeEnterpriseScanner-driven receipts, picking, countsBusy warehouses
RepairsCommunityRepair orders on sold or returned productsAfter-sales and service centers

Odoo lists Manufacturing as Community but marks its "Shopfloor, Control Panel, Scheduling" line as Enterprise, so a plant that wants tablets on the floor needs the paid edition.

Repairs is missing from the editions table, but the Odoo 20 Repairs docs cover it, and the repair module ships in Odoo's open-source code.

Odoo website, eCommerce and marketing modules list

All six Odoo website apps are in Community, and so are Email Marketing, SMS Marketing, Events and Surveys, while Social Marketing and Marketing Automation need Enterprise. This is the most generous category for Community users.

AppEditionWhat it doesWho needs it
WebsiteCommunityDrag-and-drop builder, SEO tools, multi-languageAny company with a website
eCommerceCommunityOnline shop, cart, payment providers, deliveryB2C and B2B online sellers
BlogCommunityArticles, tags, commentsContent marketing teams

eCommerce depends on Website and Invoicing, which Odoo's pricing FAQ uses as its own example. If eCommerce is your one free app, you get those two free as well.

Odoo HR modules list

Odoo's HR apps include Employees, Recruitment, Time Off, Attendances, Fleet and Lunch in Community, with Payroll, Appraisals, Referrals and Frontdesk in Enterprise. The Light User license changes the math for large workforces.

AppEditionWhat it doesWho needs it
EmployeesCommunityRecords, departments, skills, contractsEvery company with staff

An employee who only needs payslips, time off or attendance can be a Light User at US$8.90 or Rs 195 a month instead of a full user. Our guide to the Odoo 20 Light User explains who qualifies and the catches in the subscription agreement.

Odoo services and productivity modules list

Odoo's services apps include Project and Timesheets in Community, while Helpdesk, Planning and Appointments are Enterprise, and most productivity apps beyond Discuss, Calendar and To-Do are Enterprise too. Service firms should budget for Enterprise.

Odoo's documentation notes that "as of Odoo 19.0, the VoIP module has been renamed to Odoo Phone". Timesheets shows how an app can be split: the app is Community, but its grid view, timer and validation features are Enterprise.

Which Odoo modules are Community and which are Enterprise only?

Odoo Modules List: Community or Enterprise?

Odoo Community includes roughly 40 apps covering invoicing, sales, stock, manufacturing, purchase, project, website and basic HR, while Enterprise adds about 23 more plus mobile apps, hosting and upgrades. The table sums up the split by area.

AreaCommunity (free)Enterprise only

Services and productivityProject, Timesheets, Discuss, Calendar, To-DoHelpdesk, Planning, Appointments, Knowledge, Approvals, Phone, WhatsApp, AI, Studio, IoT

The editions page also lists Enterprise-only items that are not apps: mobile apps for Android and iOS, version upgrades, hosting and functional support. For the full trade-off, including OCA alternatives for Community gaps, read our Odoo Community vs Enterprise comparison.

Enterprise pricing is per user, not per app. On the Odoo pricing page, US Standard is US$31.10 per user a month billed yearly (US$24.90 in the first year) and Custom is US$61.00 (US$49.00 first year). In India the figures are Rs 725 and Rs 1,350. Both plans include all apps.

What changed in the Odoo modules list in Odoo 20?

Odoo 20 keeps the same app families as Odoo 19 but merges Field Service into Planning, moves the AI app onto Odoo's own IAP credits, and adds hundreds of smaller changes across 52 apps. Nothing you rely on in Odoo 19 disappears, but a few menus move.

  1. Field Service became part of Planning. The Odoo 20 docs no longer list Field Service as its own app. Odoo Online got this in version 19.2; Odoo.sh and on-premise users get it at the Odoo 20 upgrade. Our post on the Odoo 20 Field Service change covers dispatch and worksheets.
  2. AI runs on IAP credits. The Odoo 20 AI docs state that AI usage consumes IAP credits, priced at EUR 1 per credit with 20 free. The Odoo 19 option to use your own OpenAI or Gemini key is gone.
  3. Agentic AI needs the Custom plan. Odoo's pricing page lists "Odoo Studio / Agentic AI" under Custom, alongside multi-company and the external API.
  4. VoIP is Phone. The rename happened in 19.0 and carries into 20, so look for Phone, not VoIP, in the Apps menu.
  5. Repairs and Shop Floor are documented as their own apps. They are not new modules, but the separate doc sections are one reason app counts keep climbing.

Our Odoo 20 AI features and IAP credits breakdown estimates what the AI app costs per month for typical teams.

How do you choose which Odoo modules to install?

Choose Odoo modules by starting from the transactions you must record, adding apps only when a real process needs them, and checking the edition and plan each one pulls you into. Fewer apps at go-live means faster training and cleaner data.

  1. List your core flows. Quote to cash, procure to pay, make to stock, hire to retire. Each flow maps to two to four apps.
  2. Pick the apps for phase one. Most companies start with Sales, Purchase, Inventory and Invoicing or Accounting. Add CRM if sales cycles are long.
  3. Check the edition. If your phase-one list includes Accounting, Helpdesk, Planning, Quality or Studio, you need Enterprise.
  4. Check the plan. Multi-company, Studio, agentic AI, the external API and Odoo.sh or on-premise hosting require Custom. Odoo's pricing FAQ says installing Studio or adding a company switches you automatically.
  5. Map dependencies. Install your list on a trial database and note what else gets installed. Remove anything unplanned before go-live, not after.
  6. Defer the rest. Marketing Automation, eLearning, PLM and Knowledge are rarely phase-one apps. Schedule them for month three or later.

A forum user who added Studio during a trial later asked whether it was safe to uninstall. The best answer: back up first, because "you will not be able to get back any data once deleted". Planning the list up front avoids that question.

Our free Odoo App Selector does steps two to five for you. Pick an industry preset or your own apps, set users and hosting, toggle Odoo 19 or 20, and it returns the app list with dependencies marked, an edition verdict and an indicative license cost.

Which Odoo modules does your industry need?

Each industry leans on a different slice of the Odoo modules list, and the edition decision usually follows from two or three must-have apps. The table shows the common starting sets we see.

Implementation effort scales with the app count and the edition. Our published Odoo implementation cost ranges run from US$3k to US$9k for a small project of a few apps (4 to 8 weeks) to US$27k to US$150k-plus for large rollouts (12 to 24 weeks). These are ranges, not quotes.

Odoo modules list case study: KMF Technologies

A West African IT services and hardware distributor started with four Odoo apps instead of twenty, and ended its stock-outs within an eight-week phased rollout. KMF Technologies supplies hardware and network infrastructure to institutions across The Gambia.

Before Odoo, products and categories lived in hand-maintained lists, departments could not see each other's data, and customers waited while staff checked stock with each team. Reporting was slow and limited.

We ran a seven-phase implementation covering Sales, Purchase, Inventory and Accounting, configured around KMF's actual workflows. The work included warehouses, stock locations, role-based access, four custom PDF report formats and a chart of accounts localized for The Gambia.

KMF now runs an integrated purchase-to-delivery workflow with live stock across warehouses and fewer entry errors. Its director said: "We went from guessing stock levels to trusting them." Read the full KMF Technologies Odoo inventory implementation case study.

The bottom line on the Odoo modules list

Odoo 19 and 20 give you about 63 named apps, roughly 40 of them free in Community, and the right plan is to pick the four to six that record your core transactions first. Edition follows from your must-have apps; the plan follows from Studio, multi-company, AI and hosting choices.

Treat the list above as a menu, not a shopping cart. Install what a live process needs, check what Odoo installs alongside it, and add the rest in later phases when your team is ready.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many modules does Odoo have?

+

Odoo names 49 apps on its all-apps page and about 63 once you count apps the Odoo 20 docs treat separately, such as Payroll, Barcode and Repairs. A live Enterprise Apps menu shows 70-plus entries with connectors, and the "Extra" filter reveals thousands of technical modules.

What are the main modules of Odoo ERP?

+

The core apps most companies start with are Sales, CRM, Purchase, Inventory, Invoicing or Accounting, and Project. Manufacturers add Manufacturing and Quality; service firms add Timesheets, Helpdesk and Planning; retailers add Point of Sale and eCommerce.

Which Odoo modules are free in the Community edition?

+

Community includes Invoicing, Expenses, CRM, Sales, Point of Sale, Website, eCommerce, Blog, Forum, Live Chat, eLearning, Inventory, Purchase, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Repairs, Project, Timesheets, Employees, Recruitment, Time Off, Attendances, Fleet, Events, Surveys and Discuss.

Which Odoo modules are Enterprise only?

+

Accounting, Payroll, Documents, Sign, Spreadsheet, Subscriptions, Rental, Barcode, Quality, PLM, Shop Floor, Marketing Automation, Social Marketing, Appraisals, Referrals, Frontdesk, Helpdesk, Planning, Appointments, Knowledge, Approvals, Phone, WhatsApp, AI, IoT and Studio.

Is Odoo Accounting available in the Community edition?

+

No. Odoo's editions page lists Accounting as Enterprise only. Community has the Invoicing app, which posts invoices, bills and payments to journals, but financial reports, bank reconciliation and localizations need Enterprise or third-party add-ons.

Does Odoo charge per module or per user?

+

Per user. The Standard and Custom plans include every app for one per-user price, US$31.10 or US$61.00 a month billed yearly in the US. The One App Free plan gives one app to unlimited users at no cost, including the apps it depends on.

What happened to the Field Service module in Odoo 20?

+

Field Service was merged into the Planning app. Odoo Online users saw the change in version 19.2, and Odoo.sh and on-premise users get it when they upgrade to Odoo 20. Field service tasks, worksheets and auto-planning now live under Planning.

Why did Odoo install apps I did not select?

+

Because of dependencies. Odoo's docs say installing some apps may also install additional apps and modules that are technically required. eCommerce brings Website and Invoicing, for example. Test your list on a duplicate database to see the full set before go-live.

Can I uninstall an Odoo module later?

+

Yes, but Odoo's docs warn that uninstalling apps also deletes their database records, and forum answers stress that deleted data cannot be recovered. Back up and test the removal on a duplicate database first, especially for Studio customizations.

Is the Odoo 20 AI app a separate module?

+

Yes. AI is listed as an Enterprise app under Productivity. It runs on Odoo IAP credits at EUR 1 per credit with 20 free, and agentic AI features sit on the Custom plan. The Odoo 19 option to use your own OpenAI or Gemini key was removed.
