Odoo eCommerce Integration: Shopify, WooCommerce and Marketplace Sync
Odoo eCommerce integration explained: native connectors, Shopify and WooCommerce modules, Mercado Libre options, order flow, stock sync and real costs.
Most guides on Odoo eCommerce integration cover one store and one connector. Real sellers run a storefront plus two or three marketplaces, and the trouble sits between them. Our Odoo eCommerce integration services start by mapping every channel to one stock and order flow.
This hub is for eCommerce managers, finance leads and owners choosing how to connect Shopify, WooCommerce, Amazon or Mercado Libre to Odoo. If you are still choosing the storefront itself, read our Odoo vs Shopify vs WooCommerce comparison first.
What is Odoo eCommerce integration?
Odoo eCommerce integration means connecting an online store or marketplace to Odoo so orders, stock, customers and payments flow without re-typing. The store stays the shop window and Odoo runs fulfillment, inventory and accounting.
A working integration moves five kinds of data: products and SKUs, orders, stock levels, shipment status and money (invoices, payments, fees and payouts). Most failures come from the last two, not from orders.
Odoo also has its own website and eCommerce app. If you sell only through it, there is nothing to integrate. This guide is for businesses that keep an external store or sell on marketplaces.
Which marketplaces does Odoo 20 connect to natively?
Odoo 20 ships documented connectors for Amazon, Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop and the Gelato print-on-demand service. Shopify, WooCommerce and Mercado Libre are not on that list.
The Odoo 20 Amazon Connector documentation shows the typical scope. It syncs confirmed orders, creates missing customers, confirms FBM shipments back to Amazon and pushes available FBM stock. Fee reports, disputes and refunds stay in Seller Central.
The Shopee and Lazada connectors follow the same shape: orders in, available stock out, refunds and fee reports handled on the marketplace. We cover each in depth in our guides to Odoo Amazon integration and Odoo TikTok Shop integration.
For regional marketplaces with no native connector, the pattern is a custom build. Our Odoo Salla integration guide shows how that works for a Saudi storefront with ZATCA invoices.
Native connector, Apps Store module or custom build: which Odoo integration pattern fits?

Use a native connector when one exists, an Apps Store module when its limits match your process, and a custom or middleware build when several channels share stock and money flows. The table compares the three.
| Factor | Native Odoo connector | Apps Store module | Custom or middleware build |
|---|---|---|---|
| Channels covered | Amazon, Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop, Gelato | Shopify, WooCommerce, Mercado Libre and more | Any channel with an API |
| Sync timing | Scheduled by Odoo | Scheduled jobs in listed Shopify and WooCommerce apps | Webhooks plus scheduled reconciliation |
| Hosting | Odoo Online, Odoo.sh or on-premise | Odoo.sh or on-premise | Any, via module or API |
| Odoo plan | Enterprise, Standard plan is enough | Depends on module and hosting | Custom plan if middleware calls Odoo |
| Licence cost | Included in subscription | One-off module price plus maintenance | Build cost, no licence |
| Upgrade effort | Handled by Odoo | Wait for the vendor's new version | Your team ports the code |
Odoo's pricing FAQ says an External API is external software that initiates calls to Odoo; when the call starts from Odoo, it is not. So a connector running inside Odoo can stay on Standard, while a middleware platform that calls Odoo needs Custom.
Odoo's own documentation confirms that Odoo Online is incompatible with Apps Store and custom modules. Check the availability line on any listing and confirm your hosting before you buy. Our Odoo hosting comparison explains the trade-off.
How does Odoo Shopify integration work?
Odoo has no built-in Shopify connector, so Shopify links to Odoo through an Apps Store module or a custom app on Shopify's GraphQL Admin API. Each route has clear limits you should read before go-live.
The Odoo IN Shopify connector
Odoo IN Pvt Ltd lists a Shopify connector for Odoo 20 on the Apps Store and describes it as the only third-party Shopify app supported by Odoo. On 29 October 2026 it listed at $198.52, plus a required eCommerce Engine module at $30.00.
The listing is unusually honest about scope. Key limits:
- Sync timing: no webhook sync; everything runs on a scheduled job.
- Products: flow one way, Shopify to Odoo; you cannot push products, categories or taxes to Shopify.
- Variants: each Shopify variant becomes a separate standalone product in Odoo.
- Pricing: Odoo pricelists are not applied to imported orders.
- Stock: free quantity is pushed from Odoo to Shopify after each order pull; pulling stock from Shopify is manual.
- Invoices and returns: paid orders can auto-invoice, but orders with a rounding line do not, and only closed returns sync.
When a custom Shopify build makes sense
A custom build fits when you need webhooks, variant matrices or Odoo-driven pricing. Shopify made its REST Admin API a legacy API on 1 October 2024, and new public apps must use GraphQL from 1 April 2025, so any new build should start on GraphQL.
Real users hit the money side first. One Odoo forum user found Shopify payout reconciliation still very manual, because Shopify pays out in batches net of fees while Odoo reconciles invoice by invoice. Plan a clearing account for payouts and fees from day one.
How does the Odoo WooCommerce connector work?
WooCommerce also has no native Odoo connector; the options are the Odoo IN Apps Store module, another vendor's module, or a custom build on the WooCommerce REST API. The same scope questions apply as for Shopify.
The Odoo IN WooCommerce connector for Odoo 20 also listed at $198.52 on 29 October 2026. It runs on scheduled actions with no webhooks, pulls products one way, and imports each variant as a standalone product.
Its biggest gap for physical goods: validated deliveries, delivery status and split shipments are not synced back to WooCommerce. Customers will not see tracking unless you add custom development or another plugin.
For a custom build, WooCommerce exposes a REST API (v3) and webhooks. Watch the failure rule: WooCommerce disables a webhook after more than five consecutive delivery failures, so a short Odoo outage can silently stop order delivery.
How do you integrate Mercado Libre with Odoo?
Mercado Libre has no Odoo connector, so sellers choose a third-party Apps Store module or a custom integration. A search of the Odoo Apps Store for Mercado Libre on version 20.0 returned seven third-party modules on 29 October 2026.
Those modules differ a lot in scope, from order import only to listings, claims and accounting. Before you buy, check: whether it supports your Odoo version and hosting, how it handles Mercado Libre fulfillment stock, how it books marketplace fees, and who maintains it at each Odoo upgrade.
Tax often decides the design. Mexican sellers need CFDI 4.0 invoices, which Odoo's Mexico localization supports, so the connector must hand orders to the localization cleanly rather than create invoices on its own.
How should order flow work between your store and Odoo?
Orders should land in Odoo once, in a confirmed state, with the right customer, taxes, warehouse and payment method already mapped. Everything downstream depends on that first step.
- Order capture: the store or marketplace confirms the order and the connector imports it, by webhook or schedule.
- Mapping: SKU, tax, payment method, sales team and warehouse are matched; unmatched orders go to an error queue, not a guess.
- Fulfillment: Odoo creates the delivery, picks, packs and ships, then sends tracking back to the channel.
- Invoicing: Odoo posts the invoice under your localization rules, after payment or after delivery.
- Payout: marketplace or Shopify payouts post to a clearing account, with fees split to an expense account.
- Returns: closed returns create a credit note and, where goods come back, a return receipt.
Edge cases break step 2 most often. One forum user saw Shopify orders stuck in the import queue when a customer switched payment method after a failed attempt. Test failed payments, partial refunds and edited orders before launch.
How do you keep stock in sync across channels?
Keep one stock ledger in Odoo, push available quantity out to every channel, and reconcile on a schedule instead of trusting events alone. Overselling usually starts when two systems both think they own stock.
Push free quantity (on hand minus reserved), not on-hand stock, and consider a safety buffer per channel for fast sellers. Marketplace-fulfilled stock such as Amazon FBA belongs in a separate Odoo location so it is not offered twice.
Do not rely on events alone. Shopify's own guidance says webhook delivery isn't always guaranteed, that events can arrive out of order, and that apps should run reconciliation jobs. Shopify retries a failed webhook up to eight times over four hours, then removes the subscription.
Upgrades are the other stock risk. A new Odoo version can change reservation and valuation behaviour under your connector, which we cover in our guide to Odoo 20 upgrade and eCommerce order flow risk.
What does Odoo 20 change for eCommerce integrations?
Odoo 20 keeps the same native connector scope, but it deprecates the old XML-RPC and JSON-RPC APIs that many custom connectors still use. Plan the move now rather than at the next upgrade.
Odoo's external API reference says the `db` service was removed in Odoo 20, and the `common` and `object` services are scheduled for removal in Odoo 22 (fall 2028). The same page states external API access is only available on Custom plans.
Middleware that logs in over XML-RPC will keep working on Odoo 20 for now, but it has a deadline. Our JSON-2 API migration guide shows how to move it.
What does Odoo eCommerce integration cost?
A single standard connector is a small project, while multi-channel stock, payout and returns logic pushes the work into larger bands. These are planning ranges from our published figures, not quotes.
Our published Odoo implementation ranges are small $3k to $9k over 4 to 8 weeks, mid-size $9k to $27k over 8 to 14 weeks, and large $27k to $150k+ over 12 to 24 weeks. Data migration adds $1.2k to $9k depending on the source system and years of history.
Configuring one native connector or one Apps Store module with SKU cleanup usually sits in the small band. Payout reconciliation, returns and two or more channels sharing stock are typically mid-band work.
Recurring costs include the Odoo subscription at US$31.10 (Standard) or US$61.00 (Custom) per user a month billed yearly, module maintenance and upgrade testing.
For a first number on your own scope, use the Odoo project estimate tool before you ask for a scoped quote.
Which industries need Odoo eCommerce integration most?
Sellers with real inventory across several channels gain the most, because that is where re-typing and stock drift cost the most. The table shows the usual pattern.
| Industry | Pain or cost driver | Odoo approach | How iVentureTeam helps |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fashion and apparel | Size and color variants, high returns | Product variants, return receipts and credit notes | Map variant SKUs, design return flow |
| Consumer electronics | Serial numbers, marketplace fees | Lot and serial tracking, fee clearing accounts | Connect marketplaces, automate payout entries |
| Food and beverage | Expiry dates, batch recalls | Lot tracking with expiry dates and FEFO removal | Push sellable stock only, set buffers |
| Wholesale with D2C | B2B pricelists beside web prices | Pricelists in Odoo, web prices in the store | Separate B2B and D2C order flows |
| Print on demand | Per-order production by a partner | Gelato connector or partner integration | Configure fulfillment and status updates |

Odoo eCommerce integration case study: online retailer on Lightspeed
An online retailer kept its Lightspeed eCommerce storefront and moved its back office to Odoo, with a scheduled two-way connector carrying data between them. The project ran in North America and took 6 weeks to deliver.
Before the connector, every product, order and customer existed twice. Web orders were re-typed into the ERP, and online stock did not match the warehouse, which risked overselling.
We built a scheduled, bidirectional connector configured from the Odoo back end, with no external middleware. Nine record types come from Lightspeed into Odoo, including products, taxes, customers and orders. Three data streams go back: prices, inventory and order and shipment status.
The retailer's eCommerce Manager said: "Double data entry between Lightspeed and Odoo is gone." Read the Lightspeed and Odoo eCommerce integration case study.
The bottom line on Odoo eCommerce integration
Use Odoo's native connectors where they exist, read Apps Store module limits line by line, and build custom only where your stock and money flows need it. The connector is the easy part; mapping is the project.
Decide which system owns each record, test the edge cases that break order import, and reconcile stock and payouts on a schedule. Do that and Odoo becomes the one place your channels meet.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Odoo integrate with Shopify?
+
Not natively. Odoo's documentation lists no Shopify connector, so you use an Apps Store module, such as the Odoo IN connector, or a custom app built on Shopify's GraphQL Admin API.
Is there an official Odoo WooCommerce connector?
+
There is no native one. Odoo IN Pvt Ltd lists a WooCommerce connector on the Odoo Apps Store, and other vendors offer modules too. Check its sync timing, shipment sync and variant handling first.
Which marketplaces does Odoo connect to out of the box?
+
Odoo 20 documents connectors for Amazon, Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop, plus Gelato for print on demand. Other channels need an Apps Store module or a custom integration.
Does Odoo have a Mercado Libre connector?
+
No. Odoo's documentation lists none. The Odoo Apps Store showed seven third-party Mercado Libre modules for version 20.0 on 29 October 2026, or you can build a custom integration.
Do Shopify or WooCommerce connectors work on Odoo Online?
+
Odoo's documentation says Odoo Online is incompatible with Apps Store and custom modules. Check each listing's availability line, and plan for Odoo.sh or on-premise if the connector needs a module.
Do I need the Odoo Custom plan for eCommerce integration?
+
Only if external software calls into Odoo, such as middleware. Odoo's pricing FAQ says calls started from Odoo are not External API use, so connectors running inside Odoo can stay on Standard.
Is real-time stock sync possible between Odoo and Shopify?
+
Near real time is possible with webhooks in a custom build. The Odoo IN connector syncs on a schedule instead. Either way, run scheduled reconciliation, because Shopify says webhook delivery is not always guaranteed.
How much does Odoo eCommerce integration cost?
+
Planning ranges from our published figures: one connector with SKU cleanup usually fits the small $3k to $9k band. Several channels sharing stock, payouts and returns move into the $9k to $27k band or higher.
Will my eCommerce connector break when I upgrade to Odoo 20?
+
It can. Apps Store modules need a 20.0 version from the vendor, and custom connectors on XML-RPC should move to JSON-2 before removal in Odoo 22. Retest order, stock and invoice flows on a copy first.
