The challenge
The retailer's storefront ran on Lightspeed eCommerce — a Montreal-based commerce platform serving retail and hospitality — while operations were moving to Odoo. Without a connector, every product, order, and customer existed twice, and stock levels on the website drifted from reality.
- Catalog changes in Odoo had to be repeated by hand in Lightspeed.
- Web orders were re-typed into the ERP, delaying fulfillment and inviting errors.
- Inventory shown online did not reflect warehouse stock, risking oversells.
- Order and shipment status updates never reached the customer-facing store.
Our approach
iVentureTeam delivered a scheduled, bidirectional connector between Lightspeed eCommerce and Odoo, configured entirely from the Odoo back end.
Import: Lightspeed → Odoo
- Synchronized products with full detail, categories, brands, tags, and attributes.
- Brought taxes, customers, suppliers, and orders — including order status — into Odoo automatically.
Export: Odoo → Lightspeed
- Pushed product prices and live inventory positions to the storefront.
- Returned order and shipment status from Odoo so customers see fulfillment progress.
Connector design
- API credential setup and mapping managed inside Odoo, no external middleware.
- Interval-based scheduling keeps both systems current without manual runs.
Outcomes
The retailer now treats Lightspeed as the shop window and Odoo as the engine room, with the connector doing the carrying between them.
- Web orders land in Odoo ready for fulfillment, no re-typing.
- Online stock mirrors the warehouse, cutting oversell risk.
- Price updates publish from Odoo to the storefront on schedule.
“Double data entry between Lightspeed and Odoo is gone. Products, orders, and customers stay in sync without anyone touching an export file.”
