Pick an industry, or skip it
Each industry loads a starting stack we would propose on a first call: the apps most businesses in that sector run, nothing speculative. You can add or remove anything after.
Odoo ships dozens of apps and most businesses need eight to twelve of them. Pick your industry, tick what you do, and the selector builds your app stack, adds the apps Odoo installs anyway, tells you whether Odoo Community or Enterprise fits, and puts an indicative licence next to it. It runs in your browser and never asks for an email to show the result.
Start with an industry preset or tick apps one by one. Required apps are added for you and marked, so the stack you see is the stack Odoo would really install.

Module names are the ones you see under Apps in Odoo 19. Where an app is really a family, such as the shipping or marketplace connectors, the row lists the family and the main modules.
The presets in the selector, with the reasoning behind each one. They are starting points, not prescriptions: a distributor with its own trucks will add Fleet, a manufacturer selling online will add eCommerce.
Manufacturers need the full chain from quote to finished goods: purchasing and stock feed the bills of materials, Quality checks what comes in and goes out, Maintenance keeps work centers running and Accounting values the inventory.
Point of Sale drives the counter, Inventory and Purchase keep shelves stocked, Sales covers B2B or special orders, Email Marketing works the customer list built by loyalty programs, and Accounting closes the day.
The store runs on Website and eCommerce, orders flow into Sales and Inventory for picking and packing, carrier connectors print labels, Live Chat answers pre-sale questions and Email Marketing brings shoppers back.
Distributors live in Sales, Purchase and Inventory. Barcode speeds up receipts and picking, price lists handle customer-specific pricing, and Accounting handles margins, credit terms and follow-ups.
Service firms sell time and deliverables: CRM wins the work, Sales quotes it, Project and Timesheets track it, Planning books people onto it, and Expenses and Accounting turn it into margin.
Each site is a project with costs from Purchase, Inventory, Timesheets and Expenses. Field Service handles crews on site, Documents keeps drawings and certificates with the job, and Accounting reports profit per project.
Helpdesk takes the call, Field Service schedules the visit and worksheet, Inventory tracks van stock and parts, Planning balances the team, and the job is invoiced from the task the moment it is signed off.
Restaurant sits on Point of Sale for tables and kitchen orders, Inventory and Purchase manage ingredients and suppliers, Attendances tracks shifts, and Accounting handles the cash and card takings.
Appointments handles online booking and reminders, Invoicing and Accounting cover patient billing, Inventory and Purchase manage consumables, Documents and Sign hold consent forms and records. Odoo has no clinical or EMR app, so clinical records need a specialised system or custom build.
eLearning delivers courses and certifications, Events runs open days and workshops with ticketing, Surveys collects feedback and exam results, and Invoicing handles fees. Student and admissions management beyond that is a customization.
Subscriptions bills plans automatically and reports MRR and churn, Helpdesk supports customers, Project and Timesheets run onboarding and delivery, and Marketing Automation nurtures trials into paying accounts.
Inventory and Barcode run the warehouse, Fleet and Maintenance keep vehicles compliant and on the road, Sales and Invoicing handle contracts and billing. Route optimisation and transport management are not standard Odoo apps.
Rental prices by duration and tracks what is out, Inventory knows where every asset is, Maintenance and Repairs keep the fleet of equipment serviceable, and Accounting handles deposits and late fees.
Client work becomes projects with billable time, Documents and Sign handle engagement letters and KYC files, Knowledge holds procedures, and Accounting runs the firm's own books.
Odoo Community is the open-source edition you host yourself, with no licence fee. Odoo Enterprise adds a set of apps on top, plus hosting, the mobile app, version upgrades and support through a per-user subscription. The split below is taken from where each module lives in the Odoo 19 source: the Community addons folder or the Enterprise folder.
26 of the 51 apps in the selector, plus Discuss, Contacts, Calendar and To-Do.
25 of the 51 apps in the selector, on top of everything in Community.
The line that surprises most buyers is finance. Community includes Invoicing: customer invoices, vendor bills and payments. Full Accounting, with bank reconciliation, financial statements, budgets and asset management, is an Enterprise app. Community deployments usually fill that gap with modules from the Odoo Community Association (OCA).
The second surprise is services. Project and basic Timesheets are in Community, but Helpdesk, Field Service, Planning and Appointments are Enterprise. A services firm that wants ticketing or shift scheduling out of the box is an Enterprise customer.
Manufacturing sits in the middle. Bills of materials, manufacturing orders and work centers are Community. The shop floor tablet, quality checks inside work orders, PLM and the master production schedule are Enterprise.
Odoo Enterprise is priced per internal user per month, and the price depends on the plan, not on how many apps you install. The three plans, at Odoo's USD list prices:
$0 / user / month
Unlimited users
One app and its required apps, unlimited users, free for as long as you use one app.
$24.90 / user / month
Billed annually. $31.10 billed monthly.
All apps on Odoo Online. No Studio, no multi-company, no external API.
$37.40 / user / month
Billed annually. $46.80 billed monthly.
All apps on any hosting, with Studio, multi-company and external API.
Portal users, meaning your customers, suppliers and applicants who log in to see their own documents, are free on every plan. Prices differ by country on odoo.com, so treat the selector's figure as indicative and we confirm the local price on your call. USD list prices from odoo.com/pricing-plan, read on 2026-09-23.
We review a lot of app lists before they become projects. These are the ones that cost time or money later.
Every installed app adds menus, fields and settings your team has to learn. Start with the stack that replaces what you run today, go live, then add Helpdesk or Marketing Automation in a second phase when the basics are stable.
Invoicing sends invoices and records payments. Accounting closes your books. If your accountant needs bank reconciliation and financial statements inside Odoo, you need the Enterprise Accounting app or an OCA-based Community setup, and that decision shapes the whole project.
Odoo Online runs standard apps and Studio changes only. If your process needs a custom module, you need Odoo.sh or self-hosting, which is the Custom plan. Decide hosting and customization together, not one after the other.
Point of Sale brings Inventory. Subscriptions brings Accounting. Field Service brings Project and Timesheets. Those apps need configuration, training and data too, and they belong in the budget from the start.
Only people who work inside the Odoo backend need a licence. Shop floor staff on a tablet, drivers scanning deliveries and customers on the portal have different footprints, and the right setup can halve a licence bill.
Second opinion
Your review call is with a Senior Odoo Consultant, not a sales rep.
With 13+ years of Odoo work across 150+ projects, we have seen which stacks go live smoothly and which ones stall.
The data in this tool comes from the Odoo source and from odoo.com, and we say where every figure came from. Your review works the same way.
Your stack feeds the project estimator, and a short call turns it into a fixed scope with a figure that does not creep.
We have implemented Odoo for manufacturers, retailers, services firms and more, so the advice reflects live systems, not demos.
Turn your stack into an indicative implementation cost and timeline range. Your apps carry over automatically.

Read the guideStart from what you do, not from the app list. Sell and invoice: CRM, Sales and Invoicing. Hold stock: Inventory and Purchase. Make things: Manufacturing. Sell over a counter: Point of Sale. Bill time: Project and Timesheets. Pay staff: Employees and Payroll. The selector turns those answers into an app list and adds the apps Odoo installs alongside them.
An app is a module Odoo flags as an application: it gets its own icon on the home screen, such as Sales or Inventory. Modules are the smaller building blocks, including the bridges Odoo installs automatically when two apps are present, such as the link between Sales and Inventory. Buyers choose apps; modules follow.
Of the apps in the selector, these are Enterprise-only in Odoo 19: Accounting, Documents, Sign, Knowledge, Helpdesk, Field Service, Planning, Appointments, Subscriptions, Rental, Quality, PLM, Shop Floor, Barcode, the shipping and marketplace connectors, Payroll, Appraisals, Approvals, Marketing Automation, Social Marketing, WhatsApp, VoIP, IoT and Studio. Everything else in the selector, including CRM, Sales, Invoicing, Inventory, Manufacturing, Point of Sale, Website, eCommerce, Project and the core HR apps, is in Community.
Not to install. eCommerce depends on Website, Sales and Invoicing. Inventory is optional, but if you ship physical products you will want it for stock levels, delivery orders and carrier labels, and Odoo links the two automatically once both are installed.
Yes. Odoo's One App Free plan gives you one app, with its required apps, for unlimited users on Odoo Online, and Odoo states that the dependencies of that app are included. The moment you install a second app you move to the Standard plan.
Internal users multiplied by the per-user price of the plan your choices land on: Standard for two or more apps on Odoo Online, Custom for Odoo.sh, self-hosting, Studio, multi-company or API access. The prices are Odoo's USD list prices and the date we read them is shown next to the figure. Odoo publishes local prices per country, so your invoice may differ.
Yes, and we recommend it. Odoo apps share one database, so adding Helpdesk or Manufacturing later does not mean a migration. Plan the order, though: an app added later still needs configuration, training and possibly data, and the licence price does not change with the number of apps.
No, it tells you which apps and which licence. Implementation is a separate, one-time cost that depends on customization, data migration and integrations. Use the button under your stack to carry it into our Odoo project estimator, which gives an indicative range, then a scoping call confirms the figure in writing.
App names, editions and dependencies were checked against the Odoo 19 source code and re-checked against the Odoo 20 branch, where Field Service is being rebuilt on Planning. Prices carry the date they were read from odoo.com. If you spot something that has changed, tell us and we will correct it.
